What’s new

Settings › Competitors now shows how often each competitor appears in AI answers and in search results, and when it was last seen. Every column sorts, and you can find a domain or filter the list. Click a count to see the topics and searches behind it, each opening in Search. Competitors not seen in 90 days move to their own list.

Star a competitor to pin it to the Dashboard chart, up to four at once. The row menu ignores one you don't care about, and the Ignored list brings it back. Select several rows to pin, ignore or un-ignore them in one go.

Team admins can now rename their team from the Team tab in Account. Everyone else on the team sees the name there.

Account › Integrations now groups your connections by what each one is for. Search Console sits under Data sources, each Google account opens to show the properties it tracks, and Disconnect and Reconnect are plain buttons instead of hidden icons.

When a workspace closes, its data is now deleted automatically on the schedule our Privacy Policy sets out. We keep a record of each deletion as proof it happened, and that record holds no search data or personal details.

Search used to sort searches into three stages, and the middle two were hard to tell apart. There are now two: Understanding, for people learning how something works or whether they need it, and Buying, for people looking for a provider, a price or a comparison. Every search in your workspace has been relabeled, and the Journey filter matches.

A topic used to carry a single stage label, even when its searches were split between them. Each topic now shows a bar with its share of Understanding and Buying demand, so you can see whether it reaches people still learning, people ready to buy, or both. A single search or page keeps its own label.

Some of what Google reports as searches are long, sentence-style questions. Search now sets them aside by default so your lists stay readable, says how many it is hiding, and shows them in one click. They still count in every total, they no longer reshape your topics, and you can mark any one as an ordinary search from its detail panel.

Search now opens about as quickly as the Dashboard for each date range in its menu, in both the Queries and Pages views. On Pages, sorting, loading more rows and the strategy chips are quicker too.

If Google access lapsed, the Settings page could still say Connected while the banner asked you to reconnect. Settings now agrees with the banner and offers Reconnect.

After you edited your brand terms, the Branded and Non-branded split on the Dashboard could wait until the next daily refresh to catch up. It now updates once the change is saved.

Signing in with a wrong password used to bring back an empty form with no message. You now see "Invalid email or password", and the email you typed stays in place.

The Discover card now counts only the searches with enough monthly demand to be worth targeting, and says so under the number. Clicking it opens that same set in Search rather than the full list, so you land on what you were looking at. The demand filter is an ordinary one, so clear it whenever you want to see everything.

Numbers the app asks you to add up or check against each other are now printed in full rather than rounded, so the parts and the total agree on screen. The strategy mix tooltips now state what each one counts, whether it is weighted by how often people saw you, and which of your filters it follows.

Picking a custom date range, or applying a filter, now opens the Dashboard about as quickly as the built-in ranges do.

Two things were off in how searches were counted. Collection stopped at a limit, so on your busiest days some searches never reached your account. And when one search showed several of your pages, that single appearance was counted again for each page. DepthFinder now keeps every search Google reports and counts each appearance once, and your history has been recalculated to match.

In August, a page's Visibility started matching between its row and its detail panel under the Branded or Non-branded filter. The rest of the panel had not caught up: its query count, its AI answer figures, its strategy mix and its average position were all still worked out over the whole page. They now follow the filter too.

The newest point was often a part-week, which made the line look like it was falling away at the end. It is now a full seven days, any short period is labelled as partial on the chart and in its tooltip, and the chart follows your Refine filters like the rest of the view.

New openings now arrive automatically every month, so the list keeps moving without anyone having to trigger a refresh.

Every candidate question is now screened for how closely it relates to your business before it can appear. Loosely related questions rank below strongly related ones, higher-demand questions rank meaningfully higher, and the screening now works for smaller and newer workspaces too, where it previously had too little to go on.

When your topics are rebuilt, a lone query that fits nowhere now goes straight to Unassigned instead of briefly becoming a topic of its own, and queries left behind when a topic is trimmed get a proper attempt at joining a related topic first. Fewer meaningless topic names churn through your workspace.

Hidden single-query topics that were never listed anywhere could block a rename with a conflict you had no way to resolve. They have been retired, and their queries now sit under Unassigned or a closer topic.

Some very long, conversational searches were interrupting the weekly refresh of third-party market data, so search volume and related figures froze and a notice appeared in the header. The refresh runs again and the notice has cleared. Those long searches simply skip the market lookup.

A few very short, generic queries were showing AI search volume that belonged to a different term. Those figures have been cleared, so a topic's AI demand no longer rests on a bad number.

The summary numbers and the Top movers list now load noticeably faster, including when you switch date ranges or apply a filter. Shorter date ranges in the Pages view are quicker too, and they now show only the searches that had impressions inside the window you picked.

A page reached through an ad or a social link often carries tracking tags in its address. Those showed up as separate pages, splitting one page's impressions and Visibility across two rows. They are now one page, and past data has been combined.

With the Branded or Non-branded filter on, a page's Visibility could differ between its row in the list and its detail panel. Both now show the same number, and the comparison against the prior period uses the same basis.

A handful of machine-generated word fragments were being treated as real searches and credited with large AI search demand, which could push them to the top of Discover. They no longer inherit that demand, so AI demand figures and Discover suggestions better reflect what people actually search for.

Every detail panel in Search, and the Dashboard itself, now opens with the share of your impressions that landed on page 1, with a bar showing where the rest went. New optional columns on the Queries and Pages tables split impressions by page 1, pages 2 to 3, and beyond page 3, where searchers effectively never look. Sort by any of them to find large pages that are losing.

The one-line verdict at the top of each panel is now judged against how the rest of your site performs, not fixed cut-offs. It also calls out the openings worth taking first: searches with light competition, markets with real commercial value, and pages that sit on page 1 but rarely get the click.

Top position is now Average position: your impression-weighted average spot in Google, rather than the single best rank you ever reached. A query, a page, a site section, and your whole site all use that same definition, so the number you see in one place is the number you get in another.

Click a top mover and it opens in the full Search panel with its verdict and Page 1 share, and browser Back returns you to the Dashboard. The overall trend is now two stacked charts, impressions above clicks, on one timeline. Change arrows read the same everywhere, and page and section panels now show change against the prior period too.

A query seen once could show a perfect score. Any value backed by too little data now shows a dash with an explanation instead, at every level from a query to a whole section, and it no longer floats to the top when you sort.

Column sort now works when pages are grouped by site section, expanded queries follow the sort you chose, and every column header is sortable. Browser Back steps out of Search one panel at a time instead of losing your filters. The Protect, Capture, and Discover chips show exactly the pages they count, and the trend chart no longer shows a second change figure that disagreed with the first.
